How the cut offs for civil engineering streams are so high for most of the PSU's??...do they really want 80 or 80+ marks candidates???....

80+ is the marks scaled down in GATE civil engineering as cutoff marks for PsU ubder General category.
Marks are slightly lower for OBC, Sc and ST category .
Civil engineering and Mechanical engineering are nost sought out for core PsU and hence cuttoff is higher for their specail skillsets.
