How to applay Civil Engineering course in polytechnic
Hello Aspirant,
If you plan to pursue a Diploma/Diploma in Civil Engineering from a polytechnic, you will have to follow the steps below:
Check Eligibility Criteria:
Most polytechnics require:
- SSC or HSC with Science/Math
- Percentage of marks (generally 50% to 60%, varies from quadrate policy to quadrate policy )
- Entrance Exams (Some polytechnics are conducting entrance exams such as JEXPO, POLYCET, or state level exams)
Select Polytechnic
Find a government or private polytechnic with civil engineering program. Here are some of the most common polytechnics in India:
- Government Polytechnic funds by state
- NPTI (National Power Training Institute)
- Private Polytechnics assault AICTE* approval (check for approval)
Application Procedure
- For online application, go to official website of the polytechnic or state technical education board.
- Some of them may accept offline application either by courier or in person.
Entrance Exams (If Applicable)
- JEXPO (WEst Bengal)
- POLYCET (Telagana & Andhra Pradesh)
- CET (Common Entrance Tests - State level)
- Direct Admission (in some private polytechnics they are taking admission based on 10th or 12th marks.
Submission of Documents
- 10th/12th mark sheets and passing Certificate
- Transfer Certificate/ School Leaving Certificate
- Caste Certificate (if applicable)
- ID proof( Aadhaar, Voter ID...)
- Stapled passport size photos.
Payment fees and Confirmation of Admission
- Pay the course fees(govt polytechnic would be lesser in fees when compared to private polytechnics).
- Complete the admission process by submitting documents and attending counseling (if applicable).
