After completing the class 12th , candidates can do the ITI or can also do diploma in engineering entrance exam or you can after class 10th also.
Then you can apply for ALP exam conducted by RRB.
RRB conducts exam for assistant Loco pilot .
Candidates need to give CBT 1 , CBT 2 and Computer based aptitude test (CBAT).
For CBT 1
Total ques = 75 MCQ
Total time = 1 hour
For correct answer- 1 mark
For incorrect = 1/3 marks will be deducted
Paper will have 25 ques of general intelligence and reasoning
20 ques of mathematics
20 ques of general science
10 ques of general awareness and current affairs .
CBT 2 have two papers.
Paper 1 100 ques
Paper 2 - 75 ques
For paper 1
25 ques each of mathematics and general intelligence and reasoning
20 ques basic science and engineering
10 ques of general awareness and current affairs
Total time - 90 minutes
Paper 2 will have 75 ques of relevant trade
Time for paper 2 is - 60 minutes
After clearing the exams ,there will be medical test.
Once you clear all, you will be appointed as a ALP, after some time you will be promoted as senior ALP and finally you will be a loco pilot.

A Loco pilot is a profession for operating trains. the Railway Recruitment Board conducts the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) exam to recruit candidates for the position of loco pilots in the Indian Railways . Here's general guide about the RRB ALP exam:
Educational Qualification :
Must have passed 10th or 12th grade.
Must hold an ITI certificate or Diploma in Engineering in Electrical , Mechanical , Automobile or Electronics .
Age Limit :
Minimum age is 18 years and maximum age is 28 years .
The selection process for the ALP exam consists of four levels :
1. First Level CBT (Computer Based Test):
Time : 60 minutes Total Questions : 75
Subjects: Mathematics ,General Intelligence and Reasoning ,General Science, General Awareness .
2. Second Level CBT:
Part A: Time : 90 minutes Total Questions : 100
Subjects: Mathematics , General Intelligence and Reasoning ,Basic Science and Engineering ,General Awareness (related to current affairs)
Part B (Relevant to Technical Knowledge):
Time : 60 minutes Total Questions : 75
