How to decide between IT and computer science engineering

While IT and CS degrees can lead to similar jobs, the differences between the two are quite pronounced. IT professionals should enjoy installing computer systems, using software and maintaining networks and databases, while computer scientists should enjoy mathematics and software design.

As my prior experience, I can say that now there is no value for IT and if you cab see the statistics of Some colleges.. They wantedly removed the IT branch.. As there is no such value and also IT is almost sane as CSE but there are some differences that's it. What I want to say is pursue the course where you will get the job security in future and also where you cab find ample number of opportunities.
