How to get a good college for B. Arch. course?

Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) is a five-year undergraduate program that can be started after 10 + 2 with a minimum of 50 per cent marks. This course is designed to produce licensed and qualified architects who are allowed to create private buildings and government buildings. Architectural study includes the creation of building models, the preparation of a plan for construction and other physical structures of any land and building. The increasing demand for the development of shopping malls, flyovers in cities and other commercial complexes can be met by the position of architect.

The length of the course is 5 years and, in order to be admitted to the Bachelor of Architecture, the applicant must comply with the following conditions: 10 + 2 or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks along with the compulsory subject of mathematics.

Students can be admitted to B. Arch. by entering the NATA entrance examination, which is carried out by the Council of Architecture every year and is a qualified examination by a recognised university or board of directors. There are several colleges that accept students through this entrance exam.

After this process, students will be asked for advice on the merit list of the NATA test, and on the basis of the skills and availability of the suitable candidate will be admitted.

To order to become eligible for NATA, an applicant must meet a set of conditions of eligibility. The following are the predefined criteria set by the COA:

• Candidates must have obtained 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and also overall 50% aggregate score at 10+2 level.
• Candidates who have passed any 10+3 diploma exam with Mathematics as a subject and scored at least 50% marks are also eligible to apply for the exam.
• Students appearing in class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are eligible to appear in NATA, however, their result will be declared valid after fulfilling the above criteria.
• The marks cannot be rounded off, as if the candidate has secured 49.9% marks in his/her qualifying exam then the marks would be counted as 49.9% only.
• The lower age limit for appearing in NATA has been waived. However, the candidate has to comply with any age constraints that may be specified by the respective Counselling/ Admission Authority.
• A score of NATA 2020 is valid for a period of 12 months i.e. 1 year from the date a candidate appears for NATA exam.
• For students of International/ NRI status, NATA 2020 Eligibility remains the same as it is for the Indian nationals. There is no separate set of Eligibility parameters set for international/NRI candidates who want to appear for NATA 2020
