Hey there
Everyone who participate in the exam gets rank in JEE mains for scoring good rank one has to be really honest and dedicated to his studies that is the key to success. Many students who have good iq can't even clear the cutoff the reason is that they were not consistent or they did not take the exam seriously. So if you are preparing for the exam prepare for selection do not prepare for participation if this will be your spirit no one stop you in securing a seat in IIT or nit.
