For paper 1, t he questions asked are of matriculation or equivalent standards.Y ou should prepare for the language paper without compromising on your core subjects preparation as you only need to clear it. Choose your language wisely. It is recommended that you select the language that you learnt at school and have some grip over. CBSE school level books (Std. X) will be sufficient for this paper. Revise your school language and basic grammar lessons. Go through the WBCS syllabus. For paper 2, remember u nderstand and learn the basic concepts. Don’t try to mug up facts. Correlate syllabus to current affairs. Read the daily newspapers and PIB. Once you spot a new development in science and tech in India or affecting India, go through that article well. After that, understand the basic science involved in that development. Then, go through NCERTs or any basic science book to understand what the concept is all about. Here, range is more important that depth. Learn the major keywords on that topic. You don’t have to go into the details.
