How unsafe are you if you have provided your bank account no, address to a stranger through a sms or a phone call?
Hello Rahul,
Your bank account number is not confidential. It is there in any cheque you write and any person who transfers you money knows it. Your ATM card number is something that is confidential. However, nobody can fraud you unless they have your card expiry, and CVV, and needless to say, OTP. These are the most sensitive details you should be protective of. There are already so many bulk databases that have our account number, ATM card number, our name, date of birth, and what not. Just make sure you keep these details as confidential as possible, do not talk to anybody contacting you claiming they are from the bank, and you are likely to stay out of trouble.
Hope this solves your problem.
Hello Rahul,
Your concern is pretty genuine because, in today fast-paced world of technological advancements, nothing can be said.
But you do not have to worry since you provided someone with your Bank account number and address, so there is nothing that stranger can do.
But always remember never share your PIN, or entire phone number associated with the account, or the card number.
If you want someone to send you money use the UPI and ask them to share there. It will be much safer.
