how will the law course when compared to engineering

These both are totally different category and you can not compare those as both are good at their own importance .

In law you will be learning about the rights , freedoms, Constitution and other remedies ,politics , IPC , flows ,government organizations , different types of cases , and other various related things . All the article written in our Constitution, their conditions and terms.

But in engineering you will be going in the technical world and learning about the technology and other various things like : machines, equipment, material , coding, computers , signals, chemicals  reactions etc depending upon your branch.

So both are very good at their place and you need to find out which will be better for you in which field you want to be and what's your aim and passion.

Both the course are excellent in their own fields. Engineering as well as Law are the courses which are never going to be outdated. It soleley depends on choice after class 10th you make. Both skills require deep analysis, thinking, research and hard work. So you have to decide the course in which you have interest and wamt to make a career with it.
