Hello aspirant,
I did a bit of online research on this, since I myself did not do diploma.
It has come to light that Diploma holders too can get into IITs if they wish to, via JEE Mains and JEE Advanced route.
But the catch here is , only IITs .
There are basically two papers Mains and Advanced. These are normally given by 12th std students after giving their 12th exams
The application form for mains opens around December 1st week. Qualified candidates get to sit for Advanced exam which is after May(usually).
So if u really really wanna get into an IIT for Btech., u will hav to sit for these exams and crack them.
Diploma students dont hav a lateral entry scheme in IIT , which means. , if I crack the Advanced and get into IITs, it will be in its first year not the second year (like other engg colleges). So I can say that one year is added.
Secondly, even if u score awesome in ur Jee mains exam,
U can't use that score to get urself into other colleges like NIT, CSTI etc. Thus, for diploma holders, giving the jee mains only serves the purpose of qualifying you for Advanced.
So if u wanna get into an IIT that bad, and dont mind an added year, prepare very thoroughly for Mains and Advaced and clear them(which is a herculean task to do as they hav a wide range of qtns with ultimate depths).
Otherwise, u can follow the normal process of getting into any other engg colg via your diploma percentages and preparing hard for GATE, which is a more engg focused exam.
Hope this helps !
THANK you
I hope you understand......

Yes, buddy you can. You will need to qualify through JEE Main and JEE advanced and you can get admission for first year of four year degree course. [ Many state or private colleges will admin diploma holder in second year directly but not the IITs or NITs. ]
