I am a candidate from Assam appeared in neet. 2018. Is it necessary to study in Assam itself for getting admission in Assam's medical Colleg

I studied in Assam till class x and did my hs science from other state. Is it mandatory to study all the classes in Assam?

Hiii William.... Assam Medical College is located in Dibrugarh, Assam, India. It was the first and oldest medical institutes of the north-east region of India. It offers Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at undergraduate level, and Master of Surgery (MS) and Master of Medicine (MD) at postgraduate level to the aspiring candidates who want to pursue their career in the field of Medical Science. Admission in MBBS is done through NEET UG. Eligible candidates will have to appear in NEET conducted by CBSE. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR MBBS IN ASSAM MEDICAL COLLEGE IS: 45% in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. 40% for SC/ST. So, it doesn't matters from which state you have completed your schooling if you are an Indian citizen. MBBS course offered in Assam Medical College is for 5.5 years including internship. The eligibility criteria for admission of the medical and dental colleges of Assam requires the candidate to be a permanent resident of Assam for which:

1. The father/mother of the candidate in concern should have been residing in Assam for a period of not less than 20 years.

2. The candidates must have studied in the state of Assam from Class 7 to 12 and must have passed the senior secondary (qualifying examination) from any institute located within the State of Assam.

• If a particular candidate has attended school outside of Assam from Class 7 onwards, due to posting of either parents as an employee of the Assam State Government or Central Government or any corporation/agency included under the aforesaid, then the candidate would be granted relaxation for the period during which the father/mother had been in service, and the candidate is eligible to apply.

• (Certificate of Employment from the concerned authority for the designated period would have to be produced by the candidate during the time of counselling)

• The criteria of permanent residence is not applicable to children of officers of All India Services, presently appointed in Assam. In case, a candidate as such is called for counselling, he/she should produce a certificate indicating the nature of service of father/mother from the authority or department in concern
