I am a NEET student. I have done 12th in HSC. General category but got less than 50% in PCB so I gave physics improvement exam from NIOS. This is a very important and genuine question—thank you for asking. The good news is, yes, NIOS is recognized by MHRD, and as long as your improvement exam in Physics was done through NIOS and you now have two valid mark sheets, you’re eligible to apply for NEET counselling. According to NMC guidelines, a student must have passed individually in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with a minimum of 50% for General category 40% for SC/ST/OBC.
Since your PCB aggregate in HSC was below 50%, but you improved Physics via NIOS and now your overall percentage is valid colleges should accept your application. Just make sure you carry both your original HSC mark sheet and the NIOS improvement result during counselling. Also, keep your NEET score ready and participate in both All India and State counselling.
