i am doing cs in private college but i want to appear in jee mains . what to do ?

You can appear in jee Main examination even if you are doing engineering in a private college

This is because,

There is no rule saying that you become ineligible for JEE main examination if you are already doing engineering or any other graduation course so you are eligible for jee main provided you fulfill its imageability criteria given below

Eligibility criteria says that:-

-) Qualification required :- to be eligible  for JEE mains  for BE or Btech you need 10+2/equivalent qualification with Physics,  mathematics and anyone of Chemistry or Biology or Biotechnology or Technical Vocational Subject.

-) Passing year :- one is eligible for JEE main examination for consecutive three years starting from the year of appearing for 12th /equivalent examination i. e to be eligible  for JEE mains 2021 you should be either appearing for 12th board exam or equivalent  in 2021 or should have passed it in 2020 or 2019

So, if your 12th appearing year is 2019 or 2020 or 2021 then yes you can definitely appear in JEE main 2021 examination even if you are doing engineering from a private college right now

-) There is no age limit to be eligible

-) there is no minimum percentage requirement to be eligible for JEE Mains, you just need to have passed your 12th

But yes,

To be eligible for NITs, IIITs, CFTIs one needs at least 75% marks in class 12th if belongs to General or OBC category or or at least 65% marks in class 12th if belongs to Sc or St category. For this year i. e 2021 this minimum percentage requirement of 75% - 65 % has been lifted off.
