It is more popular for its standard in English. So it's great that you scored good marks in ICSE exams and they are also very tough as compared to other boards exams.

Now coming to computer engineering it's a very good selection of branch as it mostly in demand nowadays and it's for sure that it would most probably increase in the future as after diploma you can directly take admission in second year of the BTech degree program in computer engineering in any engineering college.
