Bachelor of arts in Defence is a very good course. There are very few colleges in India providing this course. There is very good scope for this course. Candidates learn about Strategic issues, geo-politics, warfare, foreign policy, etc. Candidates who wish to join the Armed Forces can do this course. Candidate after completing this course can apply to the vacancies in Army, navy and air force. They can even join Para military forces such as BSF, CRPF, ITBP,CISF, Assam Riffle, etc.
There is good opportunity for students who can even go for research work. After completing PhD they can have a focus country and have a study on it. Candidate having NCC are well preferred for this course. There is also an opportunity to work in think tanks in formulating policy. Most of the think tanks are in Delhi. One can even do journalism after this course and become a defence journalist. Can even join news agencies, providing them support in writing blogs, news articles, interviews, debates etc.
Bachelor of arts in Defence has very few opportunities in private sector. One can go for higher studies. There is a scope that in future there can be a job opportunity. Since government has started working on two defence corridors as proposed.
So if you are looking to join forces then you can do this course and apply for the vacancies of the forces. This course will be helpful if are armed forces because most of the officers after getting into forces they do this course as per requirement for them.
