EWS is a class-based category. Unlike the previous ones based on caste.
Ews is available for the general category students whose income fall below eight lakhs.
If you claim ews quota of general category then you will have to give up the OBC category benefits.
It is because this new reservation for EWS is made out from the existing merit quota.
