I completed my 12th in 2025 with Science. Now, in order to change my stream to Commerce, I have registered for the NIOS ODE Senior Secondary examination for the January-March 2026 session. My admission has been confirmed and my exam dates are in March. However, I want to apply for TOC for English and I am not willing to appear for the English examination. So, is it possible to apply for TOC before the English exam, which is scheduled for 10 March,2026?
Hello
Yes, it is usually possible to apply for TOC (Transfer of Credit) before the exam if your previous subject qualifies under the rules of National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). If you passed English in your earlier board in 2025, you can request TOC so you don’t need to appear for the English paper in the NIOS On-Demand Examination System. However, the application must be submitted with valid marksheets before or around the exam schedule. Contact your NIOS regional center quickly to confirm.
