there is very less chance of getting ee in iit if you are a general caste student. The cut off is very high for iit madras. You can try for the lower iits. even then i feel you cant get a good branch in any iit. now it will depend on the question paper and your competitors ranks.

Getting a seat in IIT Madras will purely depends on rank.
Of course the rank depends on marks.
But, the marks vs ranks scenario will change in a large number year by year.
It completely depends on toughness of the paper.
By the way for EE at IIT madras your cut off will depend on your category also.
It will be better if you mention your state of domicile and your reservations( if any).
