i got only 55% in my BE mechanical so can i appear gate?

Hello,
There is no as such percentage criteria for appearing in GATE examination.The minimum criteria is a 4 years after 10+2 Bachelors degree in Engineering/ Technology.
But for admission in some top institutes there is a percentage criteira like some IITs they ask for 75% in graduation whereas some ask for 60%.
