Congratulations on your results! Pharmacy courses are one of the top courses in India with a good career prospect. There are two types of courses, B.Pharm (Bachelor of Pharmacy) and Pharm.D (Doctor of Pharmacy)
Pharm.D course is a 6 year course (5 year academic + 1 year mandatory internship). Graduates get a title of 'doctor' after graduation. It focuses on fundamental concepts of pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, healthcare studies, pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical care. After completing the course, one may find work in Hospitals, Clinical research organizations and pharmacy colleges. Job profiles available are-pharmacist, healthcare professional, consultant, research professional and clinical scientist.
B.Pharm is a 4 years undergraduate course with no mandatory internship. After completing this course, successful candidates will get Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy. It is a research and industry oriented course. It focuses on drug manufacturing, research, quality control and general pharmacy studies. After completing the course, one may find work in medical shops, Colleges, pharmaceutical companies and research firms. Job profiles available are pharmacist, teacher/instructor, shop owner, marketer and research professional.
