I have done MBA in marketing and finance... But still jobless.... What I do.. can I do some other courses...??? Plz suggest.....
Dear Themdeo,
We can understand your anxiety on remaining unemployed after doing a professional course, but don’t lose hope. There may be any number of options for you to come up well in a good career. The world of business cannot survive without capital and if capital is to grow, you need to market goods and services produced by employing that scarce capital. So, employers are always on the lookout for people who have the skills to nurture the capital or market their goods and services. So, critically analyse whether you have the skills to become a job-ready marketing and financial professional.
Another important quality that employers look for is experience. Now that’s a catch-22 situation. If you don’t have the experience, you don’t get a job and if you don’t get a job, you don’t get experience either. So, what do you do? It’s here that internships come in handy. Google search with the string – “MBA marketing and finance – internship”. When I did that, at least 12 internship openings came up on the first page. Register yourself with portals like internshala, monster, naukari etc. Another way is to search for “marketing and finance companies.” Depending on your search results go to the company websites and search for current opening.
There is yet another way. That is, to upskill yourself. For example, since you have an MBA in Marketing and Finance, it would be a good idea to do short term courses in some of the popular segments like digital marketing from reputed institutions. For example, a number of top institutions offer very short term course, lasting a couple of days or a week in “Digital and Social Media Marketing Strategies.” This will give you an edge over others when you seek a digital marketing post. You can try ISB Hyderabad, though the fee would be very high. This is just an example, you can try IIMs or XLRI, MDI etc. Or you can do certificate programs in capital market, commodity and currency markets or wealth and investment management from BSE institute or similar courses from NSE Academy. The plus point is that you get hands-on experience if you study from such professional organisations. So, think through this and act accordingly without wasting time. Best of luck in your job search!
