No that's not so.
You have to score atleast 75% aggregate marks in pcm in class 12th board exams to be eligible for admission in BITS campuses.You can apply from it's website.

If you want to apply to BITSAT 2018, you have to meet the eligibility criteria prescribed for the exam, and not of VITEEE 2018, which you say you have already filled.

Among the important eligibility criteria of BITSAT are :

• You must have passed 10+2 with minimum 75% marks in PCM taken together. Also, you need to score minimum 60% marks in each subject separately.
• You must have passed 10+2 in 2017, or appearing in the exam in 2018.
• If you are already pursuing a course in any of the BIT campuses (which I assume you aren't) aren't eligible for the exam.
• English proficiency is also required
