Let me clear you one thing that writing the JEE mains entrance exam is not having any of the % eligibility but for getting into any of the college like NIT /IIT / IIIT / CFTI requires your JEE mains AIR as well the 75% in Class 12th if you are from the General Category , so overall definitely you can go for writing the JEE mains and try to fetch the better rank in it .
