No, it's not free. You have to pay the money , if you belong to any of the category. For SC too , you have to pay fees of tution, hostel, registration, placements, seminars, etc.
It's one of the greatest institute in India and the fees is same for all category students.

There is reservation criteria decided for seats in the college but not for the fees.
