To become a school teacher in india a candidate need to pursue the professional courses in teaching like D.Ed, Dl.Ed,B.ed etc.

If you want to become a teachers for primary or elementary classess then you can do diploma in education after 12th.

If you want to become a teacher at  higher secondary school education than you can do bachelor of education (B.Ed ) course after completing the graduation or post graduation.

After obtaining the professional diploma in teaching you Can directly apply for the post of teacher in some schools. While some school takes recruitment through the entrance exam like ctet, tet etc.

If you want to teach at senior college you need to do post graduation and pass the NET or SET exam or Ph.D to apply for the post of assistant professors at college.

First decide what stream you want to teach and at what level you want to teach. For a school level the route will be Bachelors + Masters + B.Ed. In the field you want to teach like Chemistry, Physics, Accounts, etc.

For teaching in degree colleges the route will be like Bachelors + masters + PHd.

There will be many other factors depends upon the position you want, however, all of them have one thing common that is bachelors degree, so you must do that in the field you want to teach.
