I orginally appeared in cbse regular student for class 12th and passed all my practicals. I'll be filling the form for 2026-27 exam cycle as a private candidate under essential repeat. Do I need to appear in practicals again?

If you have already appeared as a regular CBSE Class 12 student and passed all your practical examinations, you generally do not need to repeat the practicals merely because you are appearing later as a private candidate under the Essential Repeat category. However, this depends on the subjects and the instructions mentioned against your candidature in the CBSE examination form.

Before submitting the form, check whether your practical marks are being carried forward. If CBSE specifically asks you to appear for a practical, you will have to do so. Therefore, don't assume that practicals are automatically exempted—verify the subject-wise status during form submission.
