If a person ranks AIR 1 to 100 in jee main he/she can enter IIT directly.

Even the person who scored full marks can't enter into IITs if he doesn't clear jee advanced. For getting into iit, students have to clear jee advnced. Only then, they get a seat into IITs.

No there's no such criteria for admission into IIT even if you got the first rank still you have qualify jee advance with good score in order to become eligible for IIT however having good marks in jee main may help you in getting a better rank after advance as your final rank is based on both you jee main marks and jee advance marks.

To get admission into IIT you need to clear jee advanced and that too in each subject. Your Air in adv. Will determine your IIT clg and stream which you would be persuing.
