Yes.! You can appear in the entrance exam as there is no such criteria for appearing for the JEE Mains exam. But for admissions to NITs/ GFTIs/ IIITs, the candidates need to have secured a minimum 75% marks in class 12 or equivalent exam or be in the top 20 percentile in their 12th exam conducted by a respective board. This is for the general category candidates and that for the reserved category- SC/ST it is 65% required in 12th.
And thus you are eligible for the entrance exam. If you're aiming to get admission in a government college then 75% criteria doesn't hold. But for IIT/NITs- 75% is a must.!
