If my rank is above 500 I should Igo for counselling or not ? What is the probability of my addmission

Dear Aspirant,

As you have not mentioned your exam, I am going to give you a general idea about how does the process of counseling works.

Suppose 100 students have given the exam and have secured rank from one to 100. Now suppose there are 50 seats in the college for which this exam was conducted. Now out of these 50% seats are for general category students and students having rank from 1-25 have a direct chance at admission. However, if 5 of the top 5 students opt to not participate in the counseling then the 1-25 will become 1-30.

Now for reserved seats the same procedure is followed, but their category rank is considered. For example, 5 seats are reserved for OBC students, and there are in total 15 students of OBC in the exam. Suppose their general rank is from 50-65. In this case those seats will allocated to 50-55 directly and if some students do not sit in counselling then the ranks changes accordingly.
