I'm a 3rd year Bsc student in the new 4 year NEP course 2023-2027. Can I appear for IITJAM 2026 as a mock practice? The only options during registration under the 'Year of Qualifying Degree' selection are 2025 and 2026. Can I put 2026 and appear for the exam? Will my application be rejected?

Yes , you can appear for IIT JAM 2026 as a mock practice even though you’ll still be in your 3rd year of the 4-year NEP course (2023–2027). During the registration process, you can select 2026 as your “Year of Qualifying Degree.” The form doesn’t strictly verify your year at that stage, so your application won’t be rejected just for that.
keep in mind that since you’ll still be in your pre-final year, you won’t be eligible for actual admission that year your attempt will only serve as practice and to understand the exam pattern. Once you reach your final year in 2027, you can officially appear again for admission purposes.
So Yes , you can safely choose 2026 and take the exam just to gain experience.
