I'm obc category what is minimum ranks to get seat

Being in category of OBC offers you some special advantage. There is no official information regarding the minimum rank to get into IITS and NITS still a rank under 12000.

There is no such thing as minimum rank which can get you IIT or NIT. It changes every year. And depends on no. Of applicants and paper difficulty level. So you should better focus on scoring better in JEE Mains. A better percentile can take you to a good College and a perfect branch.

As you are a obc candidate your general rank can be upto 40k to get you admission into decent nits with branch like metallurgical engineering or production engineering but if you want a core branch in top nits then you can work hard to get a general rank below 15k you will definitely get core branch in top nits.

Well there are around 11,000 seats in the 27 IITs of the country. But to get a top branch at a top IIT matters a lot. You can get a seat in any IIT if your rank is within 10,000. But you should have a rank within 2000 to get a top branch. Only qualifying the JEE ADVANCED will ensure you a seat in IIT.
