Yes of course sports certificate applies some increment in you value during placement. As companies want multitasking employees. Employ should not centric towards only a particular field of interest he/she should be enriched with multiple skills.
Sports certificate is counted in your co-curicular activities. If it will be in your CV/Resume than this will increse your chances of getting placed in the company.
