In IIT under st category admission is done on basics of ranks or marks?

Hello,
For admission in IITs, one must clear the specified criteria wise cutoffs. For any criteria(General/OBC/SC/ST), IITs release the cutoffs and for admission, one should have cleared at least cleared the cutoffs. Then further in the counseling rounds, seats are alloted based on ranks. So, the cutoffs released by IITs are in terms of ranks but also, one must clear the specified subject wise cutoff marks in Physics, Chemistry and Maths.

If we have cleared the cutoff by casts category wise in llt .But our rank is to far then also we will get admission in llt
