it totally depend on your interest ,go for counselling or thinks properly and then choose your branch .

One of my friends was in KIIT back in 2011, when he was doing B.tech at KIIT ,even the guys from Civil branch got placed in TCS, so these days people are getting money oriented, and are not interested in creating or developing something new , and as we know that these day programming and software is famous at last you will be again doing courses of programming, its not bad to be carrier oriented but one should understand difference between  profession and carrier.
It will be waste of your time and resources and will harm your self respect if you choose a non computer science oriented branch and at last end  up doing programming to enter into IT industry.

so if you want to just earn fast ,earn money , get placed then choose the branch which the market needs today.
