As far as I know this is an Engineering programme that seamlessly articulates the concepts from basic science to technology with relevant practice through lab and projects for building the problem solving skills, keeping industry requirements in place. Students will develop competence in areas like Networking, Web Development, Cloud Computing, etc.
IT at LPU is much recommendable. Let me share with you what is LPU alumni(one of my friend) views after completing his graduation from same stream:

• All the courses in department are designed with industry centric specializations which help them to get good placements. These courses bridge the gap between the academia and the actual industry demands by providing the detailed applications of those courses in real time scenario.
• There are separate laboratories for all the domains. Programming Lab, Networking Lab, Systems and Architecture Lab, Databases Lab, Software Engineering Lab
• Guest lectures held for the students by IBM, DCDS, ANR Infotech, kayako Infotech, NIIT, Indian Air force, Wipro BPO, Google, Safaltech, Piford, AMCAT, RED, Betasoft, etc
• There is an in-house 6 months training inside the department ,called INCUBATION CENTER: Students are involved in various live projects
• Infact to find out the aptitute of a child ,AI based game application using Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligence is applied. A system will be developed that would help them identify the field or intelligence they are good that so that they could focus on the same and polish their skills from the very beginning.

Eligibility for B.Tech.(Information Technology (IT)) is to get pass with Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics, Mathematics and English) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST. LPUNEST will be exempted in case student has scored more than or equal to 90 percentile in JEE Mains or 90% aggregate marks in 10+2.
