Hello.
The syllabus for a CAT and Bank PO Exam are more or less the same , although the CAT Exam is more difficult than the Bank PO Exam with regard to English , Maths and Reasoning. GK is not a part of the CAT Exam , which is a part of the PO/Clerical Mains Exam.
In the Bank PO exam ,English Section , a lot of questions are related to Vocabulary and Grammar in addition to other topics whereas CAT Exam has seen a decreasing trend of both these topics in the recent years.
In the reasoning section of Bank Exams a lot of questions are related to seating arrangements , blood relations , syllogisms , coding-decoding and Input-Output type questions . CAT Exam is more focused towards Data Interpretation questions that focuses on Bar- Charts, Pie Charts and the rest. In the Logical reasoning sections you can expect questions from a wide variety of topics that include questions on games and tournaments , optimal path methods , relationship based questions and others.
For quantitative ability the syllabus is more or less the same.
For the GK portion in a Bank Paper you need to focus on Banking Awareness and Current Affairs.
On the syllabus front, both the exams have two key differences between them, which is General Knowledge & Computer Aptitude.
IBPS PO Prelims exam pattern :

IBPS PO Mains exam pattern :

- Quantitative Aptitude - 35 Questions, 45 minutes for 60 Marks
- Reasoning and Computer Aptitude - 45 Questions, 60 minutes for 60 Marks

CAT exam pattern :
The Common Admission Test for the IIMs comprises of 3 sections, namely
- Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VA-RC)— (34 Questions)
- Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DI-LR) — (32 Questions)
- Quantitative Aptitude (QA) — (32 Questions)
On the day of exam CAT students will be given 180 minutes to solve 100 questions, which translates 1.8 minutes per question (i.e. 1 minute and 48 seconds).
On the other hand, CAT does not feature any kind of General Knowledge or General Awareness questions, which makes it stand apart from almost all the entrance exams of the country.
Hope this is helpful.
Good luck.
