is doing a job after BE is better or should I go for Mtech?

It will be a good idea to go for M Tech as it will widen your horizon of opportunities. However you must have taken the decision of higher studies sometime before completion of your graduation. In that case you might have the option of continuing the studies without any break. However as it is said that it is always better to be late than never, similarly your decision will help you in the longer run to become successful.

Continue job search while preparing for the GATE / CAT: You need to qualify for GATE if you want o go for M Tech and it is necessary that you score very well in the qualifying examination. In case you want to study Management course, you need to score good marks in examinations such as GATE, MAT etc. Besides, you can appear for JMET which is specifically conducted for Management Institutes of IITs.

In case you want to opt for M. Tech, you should immediately start preparing for GATE. As you have just completed your studies, it will be easier for you to continue with your studies. You can join a renowned coaching institute. It is necessary to join a coaching institute as you will always be in touch with your course. The practice tests will equip you well with the latest trends of questions. Moreover, the circle of students will keep will keep you motivated towards your goal.

Preparing for GATE will also open other avenues such as preparing for competitive examinations. You should keep your eyes open for the advertisements showing annual recruitment drives of various PSUs. May public sector organizations conduct their annual recruitment drives in various times of the year. It will be a good idea to apply in these jobs in order to test your preparedness for the GATE . The recruitment process of the PSUs normally consists of written tests / interview which judges the technical knowledge of the candidates.
