Is Govt. engineering college ajmer good for civil engineering?
Dear Anupama,
I would say,Lovely Professional University is One of India’s Best Civil Engineering college in Punjab, School of Civil Engineering empowers its students with state-of-the-art technologies and latest labs that are at par with international education standards. The students contain a superb blend of skill, leadership and, innovation leading to awe-inspiring placements. Emphasizing the need to evolve and create the smart cities of tomorrow, LPU School of Civil Engineering focuses on creating professionals that become the inventors of future sustainable technology.I am saying this because I have done my post graduation from LPU and I had few friends from same branch.
One of my friend told that,This programme at LPU include a blend of hands-on experiential learning and theoretical foundational courses. The very best include a mix of traditional learning in laboratories and classrooms with cooperative programs that allow students to gain work experience. Others may include independent research with faculty members another good bet for individuals hoping to go directly into research or the workforce upon graduation.
1.Most of the faculty staff are from reputed organizations with their highest degree from various reputed institutes such as IITs, NITs, etc. Apart from that, faculty have got previous industrial experience also.
2. The capstone project is an integral part of B. Tech program in which students have to pick a live project based on the practical problem-based scenario (ideally from industry) and work for six months under a mentor and present a report at the end. This is beneficial to enhance your presentation skills.
3. There is an internship program which could be an opportunity for getting work experience and increase your chance to get employment after you pass out. But, of course, your academic record should be good to get this placement option.
4. Industrial visits are organized to nearby construction sites from time to time. There, you can see actual construction work going on. Be prepared to have dust on your shoes (believe me, it will be worth a lot). You have to ask questions yourself and trigger interest in the activities around you.
5. You will get some courses from soft skills, English language, mental and analytical aptitude side. This sounds dull to you as of now. But you will feel its importance when you face an interview panel in a company during your placement drives.
6. They have very good placement records and good infrastructure companies visit their campus, L & T, Simplex Piles Ltd, Era Infrastructure, Gammon India Ltd to name a few.
7. Career oriented Software training in project labs is given. To work in this profession, you are supposed to be familiar with software like MS-Project, STAAD Pro, MX Road, etc. None the less, you will be trained in Auto CAD in your second year which is prerequisite for any Civil Engineer. In order to enhance the learning experience of the civil engineering students, the University has established a laboratory named, Uni lab mechanical testing of building and construction material. National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) is a Constituent Board of Quality Council of India (QCI) that provides CAB (Conformity Assessment Boys) accreditation.
8. Every theory course is complemented with relevant lab-based practical work. Some of the labs are based on field testing where experimental work is to be done, e.g. Soil Lab & Surveying Lab.
I hope that helps you to make a wiser decision. Rest lies on you. But, yes, four years is enough time to groom your personality. And, as someone already said, it will all depend upon your quest to knowledge, hard work & networking skills. All the best for your future endeavors.
Government engineering college is quite a decent college in Ajmer, Rajasthan under REAP. It has been quite average with its placement records, faculties and infrastructure. But if you do get a chance to get Civil engineering branch in colleges like JECRC, Poornima, SKIT etcetera, do not miss out. Otherwise the current college option that is Government Engineering College, Ajmer is quite sufficient to look upto.
Hello student,
Government Engineering colleges in Ajmer have a very good infrastructure and lecturers are also good. But placement facilities are average. You can give preference to JCERC as the placement facilities in Civil Engineering are good here and the college faculties are very good with well educated professors and lecturers. The faculties are understanding and masters in their subjects.
Thank You!
And the reasons are
1.low placement though many good
companies visited but very less students were
able to clear aptitude tests..
2.low quality teaching ...faculties are worse
.you will always get demotivated by them....
3. No proper sport facilities...college doesn't
have its own playgrounds like cricket football
and basketball...
4.transportation and accommodation
problem .....college doesn't have its own
hostels.
So if you want to take admission in this
college than just keep in mind these points
Thank you
Infrastructure:The college provides free Wi-Fi facility to every student, and it has very high speed. Labs are in good condition.
