Are you referring to the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) exams? If yes, the placements and other job aspects are vastly different from CS (Computer Science).
In IAS, you have to work exclusively in the government sector, whereas in CS the major recruiters are provate firms like Google and Apple. Salary will be higher for CS, especially if you choose to leave India.
However, the job of an IAS officer is highly respected in society, offering many job perks like free residency and medical insurance, which all CS firms don't offer.
