In context to the pattern of BHU entrance tests. It is advisable to keep a tab open on the current affairs. But you certainly do not need to go in such details. The questions often asks the broader facts. But when you prepare your GS, make sure to pay attention on the details and the dates , oftentimes the questions are found to be asking the years of major historical events and all . All in all, keep in touch with the broader sense of current affairs and focus sharply on the past.

Only one paper is there that is entrance test
Yeah in that one paper many things are asked right? Hindi English current affairs GS etc. So GS is a combination of all the basic GK let's say. General Studies.
