Bachelors of engineering in automobile engineering is a 4-year graduation course that deals with the study of designing, working, manufacture and production of automobiles. There are many colleges (including IITs) that provide this course.

Admissions
For admissions in these colleges, the criteria vary since some of them are state colleges, while some are private. The general entrance exams you can give are-
• JEE-MAIN

Eligibility Criteria
Again, it varies from college to college. However, I am providing you the criteria for some of the entrances-
For TNEA-
In PSG College of Technology, admission is based on TNEA.
• Eligibility criteria(for other state students)-
• Candidates must be an Indian citizen but not a native of Tamil Nadu. Candidates will have to upload a certificate of Permanent residence in the prescribed format in English only while filling the application form
• Candidates must have passed HSC or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% for General Category and 40% for SC/ST candidates in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together.
• For 2018, diploma holders were allowed to appear for TNEA.
For JEE mains 2019-
Only those candidates who have passed their Class
• 12th Examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2017, 2018 or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2019 are eligible
• there is no age limit for the candidates
• a candidate is allowed to appear in JEE (Main) for three consecutive years.
• To appear in JEE (Advanced) a diploma holder can apply in JEE (Main) - 2019 but his/her rank and NTA score for JEE (Main)will not be declared as diploma holders cannot apply for admission to NITs and CFTIs through JEE (Main)
For AP-EAMCET,
• Candidate must have completed 16 & 17 years of age as on December 31, the upper age limit of candidates belonging to General category will have to be 22 years, while for SC/ST category, it must be 25 years as on December 31 of the admission year
• Students belonging to Andhra Pradesh/Telangana must have domicile certificate
• Applicants also need to meet the local/non-local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Education Institutions
• To be eligible, candidates should have qualified or appeared for the final year of Intermediate Examination (10+2 or equivalent) with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry as and optional or related vocational courses

Candidates should have passed or appeared at the final year of the Diploma exam in Engineering conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana.
Since you did not mention what kind of Diploma you have pursued, if it falls in the above criterion then you are eligible to apply. Otherwise, you have the option for applying for Lateral Entry in B.E/B.Tech in many engineering colleges.
