see after passing engineering most of the students want to do job in their respective domain, however in india there is scarcity of core engineering jobs and also there is less infrastructure for research and development, so around 70-80 percentage students from different tier 1 and tier 2 colleges is shifted to IT industry, its not that you need to be a good programmer to do job in IT, however there is different type of post and work opportunity.
