Yeah definitely it is , prestigious exams like JEE mains & other Government exams the dimensions of photo , name as well date should be compulsorily mentioned in the photos . It will be faar better if your background of the photo should be white . Yes it is required not so compulsory but providing it would be better for avoiding any problems in future.
