Is the light dress reffers to light colour or light weight

The dress code as per NTA does not emphasise on the colour of your dress .What matters is that you should avoid clothes with embroidery , broaches,buttons,chains and avoid wearing full sleeves clothes .

They have set rules for footwear as well which means you are advised to wear slippers or sandals with low heels because shoes are not allowed .

I would like to advise to you strictly follow the dress code set by NTA in order to avoid running into unnecessary problems.

Dear Biju, actually in this context, it means both light in colour and light on eye. Light coloured clothes are preferred for 2 reasons because of the summer heat. Light colours are good reflectors of heat allowing you to write your exam comfortably. The second thing being light coloured clothes cannot hide any communicable devices that can be used for unfair means because they are a little transparent as opposed to dark coloured clothes. So light coloured clothes with no extrinsic designs, bell buttons and embroidery are preferred for both male and female candidates.

Light dress refers to the color combination of the dress you are wearing. It should be of light color which looks decent and formal. Dress you wear should be of bright color. It gives a casual look which doesn't suits to any profession.
