Is there any consideration of acedamic results of b.tech in getting a seat in IIMs
After you give the CAT exam every IIM makes a merit list to call students for next round of interview and WSAT which is based on your aggregate score which comprises of many factors such as CAT marks, 10th 12th and graduation percentage, work experience, engineer or non engineer, gender with different weightages for different colleges. In this your b.tech graduation percentage generally has 10-15% weightage.
After this you need to go through interview and WSAT and again a final merit list is made with including marks of interview and WSAT as new parameters. In this weightage of your graduation marks are reduced from 0 - 10%. There are even some IIMs like IIM Indore which gives more weightage to academic records even more than CAT marks.
So your b.tech marks will play a quite big role in your select process. All the best!!
