Candidates will have to first appear for JEE Main..Once the results of JEE Main declared Only Candidates in top 2,24,000 in the merit lists of various Categories can apply for JEE advance.

You can only apply for JEE Advanced 2018 if you qualify for appearing in JEE Advanced. In order to apply and appear for JEE Advanced, you need to come in the top 2,24,000 rankers of JEE Main 2018. Only candidates within the top 2,24,000 top rankers from JEE Main 2018 will be considered eligible for appearing in JEE Advanced 2018. Your JEE Main result/rank card for 2018 will also carry your "Qualifying Status" for JEE Advanced 2018. If your JEE Main result 2018 reflects that you have qualified for JEE Advanced 2018, then only you can register for JEE Advanced and take the test.
