List the out comes you can see in these experiments a) Spinning a wheel b) Tossing two coins together
HI , the outcome that appear by spinning a wheel are as follows assume wheel has 4 colours ( red , yellow, blue, green ) so the possible outcomes will be 4 if it is not asking for specific one .
and outcomes for tossing two coins together will be HH , HT , TH, TT .
Hello vishwanath!
a) When we spin a wheel it has different sections ( they can be numbers, colors or symbols) . The arrow will stop at only one section at a time so that it becomes the outcome.
- Now for example suppose the wheel is divided into 6 equal parts which are 1, 2, 3, 4
- If you spin it once the possible outcomes are 1,2,3,4.
- So only one number will appear at a time
Suppose if the wheel is coloured in 4 parts as blue, green, yellow and red the possible outcomes will be blue, green, yellow and red.
Therefore, the outcome of spinning a wheel will always depend on how it is divided but in general it will be one of the marked sections where the arrow stops.
b) Each coin has only two possibilities head or tail. Now when you toss 2 coins at the same time you have to consider the result of both coins together.
The first coin can be either head or a tail.
Second coin can also be either head or tail.
If We combine them we get four possible outcomes:
- Both coins show head
- First coin head second coin tail
- First coin tail second coin head
- Both coins so tail
