May i know that the mba admission are based on cat exam marks or by graduation marks only??
It all depends on the institute. Some of the top institutes give a fair degree of weightage to past academic results. Examples are IIMs, IITs. There are also top institutes which do not consider past academics. Exapmles- XLRI, MDI, TISS. Hope this helps. All the best!
Your chances of securing admission depends on various parameters. Some universities has a role to get 50% marks in graduation also some prefer CAT exam, other prefer entrance exam.
It is depend upon the university to university. You need to figure it out where you wanna go. Top universities conduct entrance test and they combined percentile with academic scores.
Following are the best universities :
Lovely Professional University, Punjab
Christ University, Cochin
University of Science and Technology, Kochi
Assam Don Bosco University, Guwahati
Good Luck
Basically mba admissions are conducted on the basis of mba entrance exams like CAT,XAT,CMAT,MAT, ATMA and others. The top institutes for management studies are iims as you will be knowing it.
But there are many colleges/universities who conduct their own entrance test at their own level. For example In Rajasthan university, there is a state level entrance exam for mba and there is no need for cat and mat score. While in private universities there is a need to get a good cat score to get a seat in b school.
So all and all it varies. You need to figure it out where you wanna go. Top universities conduct entrance test and they combined percentile with academic scores.
I wish you all the best for future endeavours.
Cheers !!
Hi Anuja,
for admission to PGDM programmes, you will need to appear for any entrance exam like CAT, XAT, CMAT, GMAT, MAT etc. Further, you also need to check which entrance test scores are accepted in colleges that you are interested in.
For example, admission to IIMs are based on CAt score. Admission to XLRI is based on XAT score. PGDM institute like BIMTECH, TAPMI accepts both CAT and XAT score.
Besides this, universities have freedom to decide admission mode for their MBA programmes. Many unversity conduct their own entrance test or set their own admission process which might be independent of the above mentioned MBA admission tests.
