Now when it comes to getting ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering) in NITs the competition is super tough for most NITs even the least competitive ones the OBC-NCL closing ranks for ECE usually stay below 12,000 and that is in the later rounds

your OBC-NCL rank is around 97,909 it is way beyond the usual cutoff for ECE in any NIT so to be honest getting ECE in an NIT with this rank is not really possible

But don not lose hope here are a few things you can still do:

Try other branches – some less competitive branches like Civil, Metallurgy, or even newer ones at lesser-known NITs might have slightly higher cutoffs you could check those

Look at GFTIs or state colleges – government funded technical Institutes or good state-level engineering colleges might still have seats with your rank

Private colleges – some private engineering colleges also offer decent ECE programs and your rank could easily get you in there

Drop year (only if you are fully committed) – if you are really set on getting into a top NIT for ECE, and you are confident you can do better, taking a year to prepare again is also an option. But that’s a personal choice
