My bitsat score is 257.i am thinking to opt for dual degree but I am unable to understand what it is.

With 257 marks in Bitsat, you can get admission in  various dual degree courses at Bits campuses.

Dual Degree :

One of the most popular flexibilities provided in the BITS, Pilani's educational structure

Under this scheme, it is possible for a student to work for and complete two Degrees within a reasonable period of time.

All the admitted students are given an opportunity to take up a Dual Degree based on their performance in the first year of the programme.

Example:

A Student who has been allotted Chemical Engineering or any other discipline can choose to take Computer Science or any other discipline as his/her Dual Degree, if he/she maintains the prescribed criteria(CGPA of 7 or more) in the first year.

In such a case, he/she will take a minimum of one additional year and pay an additional Admission/Tuition fee to complete both the degree programmes and receive the Degree in respective disciplines.

You can cover two degrees by the time you graduate.

Disadvantages

You should get good CGPA in first year, else you may not get CSE.

You need to study one more year.

You will be appearing in placements , along with your junior BE batch.

Congrats on your BITSAT score. I would like to explain to you what a dual degree means. A dual degree is a combined degree. Instead of pursuing a Bachelors and Masters degree separately you enrol for both at a stretch. It is usually lesser than the total time taken for separate degrees. The dual degree offers a variety of mix matches, especially at BITS. Yes, your option of Btech +Msc is a good option for a dual degree. All the best!!
